Converting Paul

I am currently in residence with the Paulist priests serving the St Thomas More Newman Center across from The Ohio State University and will stay here through Easter.

It’s exciting to be “back” in Ohio because I will forever have the distinction of being born in Cleveland. My family left Cleveland for Barranquilla, Colombia six months later, and most of my childhood, college, and brief professional years were spent in Texas.

I’ll be involved with various student groups and ministries at the Newman Center, and I’ll also sit-in on many staff meetings and behind-the-scenes committees.

It’s possible to liken this two month “apostolate” to an internship, and in a certain sense it feels a lot like my college summer internships as I learn new names and faces. But as I’ve written earlier, the life of a priest is so much more than a job function. So unlike most internships where…
